Who We Are

Brief History

TOP Ministries International (TOP Church) – formerly known as Temple of Praise Ministries – was established on 23rd January 1988, by the power of the Holy Spirit, in Sunyani in the Brong-Ahafo region of Ghana. The leadership comprised Rev Osei Owusu Cobbina (General Overseer) and four other vision bearers.

These five selfless, zealous and spirit-filled men make up the Founding Members and the Apostolic Council – the highest body of the Church. They are Rev Osei Owusu Cobbina (General Overseer), Rev Adu Kyeremeh (General Secretary), Rev Peter Yaw Asamoah (Director of Finance), Rev Cosmos Abraham Tabiri (Executive Member) and Rev Alex Owusu Amankwah (International Missions Director).

From the outset, through commitment, tenacity and loyalty towards this divine calling, they were able to established four formidable branches at Sunyani, Dormaa Ahenkro, Berekum and Wamfie within one month. This was followed by a great commitment towards evangelism, culminating in the establishment of the branches in almost every district in the region within the first few years. Currently, the Ministry has over 75 branches in Ghana and about six (6) foreign churches in Italy (Pordenone), USA (New York), Switzerland (Geneva), Finland (Helsinki) and two branches in UK (Watford and London). There about eight (8) outreaches presently being nurtured into branches soon.

The Ministry has zoned into Northern A, Northern B, Middle and Southern zones, under which are about nine administrative districts: Sunyani A, Sunyani B, Berekum, Wamfie, Dormaa, Accra, Kumasi, Wenchi and Bechem.
